The paperback of my and Anna Arutunyan's book on Prigozhin, DOWNFALL, is now out. Come for the tales of his criminal past, stay to learn how his rise and fall illuminated how the Putin system works (and how it doesn't)

Downfall
In the early years of Vladmir Putin’s Russia, Yevgeny Prigozhin emerged as one of the President’s most trusted assets. By 2023, he had become a dangerous warlord – and also one of Putin’s chief rival...

Ian Lance Taylor deserves an award for the most patient person in Open Source.

He also has an amazing ability to translate the clarity of his thinking into the written word.

He has had such impact on the way people create software.

I really hope he continues to contribute to Go.

Everyone pays for search. The difference is whether you're paying with your attention, time, and private data - or with your wallet.

With more #golang conferences and meetups joining BlueSky, here is a starter pack with the ones I've seen so far!

Did I miss any? Please ignore the fact that I can't remove myself from my own list!

What I actually want is a site where I can buy any music or movie or tv show I want, but there’s zero fulfillment mechanism. Just send the money to the artists and I’ll go pirate it myself but now it’s legal because I paid for it. Eliminate the middle man stupid streaming services.

Search is one of the most fundamental ways we interact with the internet. It should feel intuitive, fast, and designed to meet your needs. Paying for a service like Kagi means that we can deliver a highly tailored search experience that evolves with you.

I just realized I’ve been using exclusively Kagi for search for six months now, and it faded completely in the background.

I barely ever use the power user features, nor I use the Google fallback. I just… search. And it works.

In 2022, I left Google in search of a sustainable approach to open source maintenance. A year later, I was a full-time independent maintainer.

Today I’m announcing the natural progression of that experiment: Geomys, a small firm of professional maintainers with a portfolio of critical Go projects.

Extremely excited to introduce Sunlight, a Certificate Transparency log backed by object storage, based on sumdb-style tiles, and with no merge delay.

It’s designed to be cheap, easy, and safe to operate, and to bring CT into the growing tlog ecosystem.
