“First among nations” is a real stretch.
America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

I have never seen anything like this in NYC. 5th Ave covered from 42nd St well to the 20s. Nobody prepared for this volume. Volunteers are holding the traffic on all the side streets. No police in sight. #handsoff

Disabled people are NOT listened to by the government. We are treated as expendable & our opinions not considered. If we had been consulted on pandemic policy I guarantee we would be in a better place”

It’s time to start listening to the disability community. We can help with the resistance:
We Are Witnessing Real Time Eugenics... and People Don't Seem to Care.
Mask bans and revocation of medical exemptions have been all over social media this week - and anti-maskers are reacting with glee. They are celebrating disabled people losing a tool for protection.

The Treasury Department right now. People are turning out against Musk and DOGE staging a takeover of the Treasury’s payment system. This crowd is big. The whole block is packed. “Lock him up,” everyone yells.

Growing up in a family with a narcissistic psychopath at the helm makes navigating the current political landscape extremely challenging. It is a daily onslaught of triggers, especially for those of us who have still not reached safety from these people in our personal lives.

Endorsing RFK Jr. as HHS secretary is like endorsing Jeffrey Dahmer as dietary adviser.

I voted to reject RFK Jr.'s nomination to HHS.

I cannot in good conscience support someone who denies and will dilute our public health protections, sow distrust in science, and oversee massive cuts to health care programs for vulnerable Americans.

We never made classrooms COVID safe.

Schools were hotbeds of COVID transmission. Kids died. Teachers and other school staff died. Family members living with kids died.

Many who didn’t die—including kids—got long COVID.

THAT is what we didn’t reckon with. All we ever hear about is harms of closure

Abled people, this is where you need to step up, and the absolute easiest thing you can do is wear a mask in public. Normalizing masking is resistance.

Yeah, you’ll probably get pushback. Imagine how those of us with no choice but to mask feel.

Be a better ally. The literal future depends on it.
A friend just told me her kids are not allowed to wear masks to school.

Not even not encouraged to, not ALLOWED.

It’s one of those things I knew intellectually must be happening, but fuck, they really just hate kids and disabled people, don’t they?

Maybe it’s the trauma fatigue & triggers or PMS, but the idea of starting over here after building such a community over there is depressing and deflating. I hate change. I hate goodbyes. And I really don’t have it in me. 1/

Every time I get a notification that more than one person followed me, as soon as I follow one back and go to find the next one, they disappear. So, it’s making it very difficult to follow people back.
