I've been thinking some on the differences in MAGA in my own family. Both sides are MAGA. I feel likemy Mom's side version of MAGA vs. My Dad's side are actually different things. My Mom's side I think has a lot of mental illness going on. I remember Dad talking about that to me when I was a kid

MAGA gun doctor Keith was not around much at all when his boys were little. Sheri was living with Grandma (Grandma was actually doing most of the boys' care-night feedings, diapers, etc)

I guess one time Keith was around and decided to take the hot dog cousin for a walk. At some point in the walk

I don't know if this helps discredit carnivore doctor. I have never been in Keith's house. Dad has been dispatched up north to fix his roof. He said he always has a half rotten bag of potatoes on the floor. Presumably he eats some of them.

I guess I come off as a nut job on the veggie side. I had some OT today for work. After work decided BLTs sounded okay. Got the bacon fried, then realized we have no mayo. Mom suggested using peppercorn ranch dressing on the bread instead. It works.

This is Charles Clyde Ebbets, the photographer who took the iconic “Lunch atop a Skyscraper” picture. Look at this fearless, dapper fuck wearing spats, suspenders, and a tie 850 feet above the ground. Absolute legend.
Here he is taking the photo.

I had a picky eater streak as a kid. My Mom had a "pick out and don't eat the parts you don't like" Her policy is if she is cooking she will make it as she sees fit to make it, and will not take requests. I am grateful to her as an adult for this. Part of why I am curious about my cousin as an

I've been sick. I have not been to the doctor yet. Dad has been to the doctor and he gave it to me. He said they didn't tell him what it was, but gave him some antibiotics. I missed two days this week. Today I am working in same building as lady going for surgery soon. So I am masking and not

Austria bans headscarves in schools for girls under 14
The conservative-led government defended the measure as necessary to protect young girls. Human rights organizations believe it could fuel anti-Muslim racism.

I guess $60 a month was average rent in New York in 1950. Shortage of rental units. Her set up was more that like they were renting beds in a communal area for tenants. It wasn't like individual apartments for each one.

I think Great Grandma did a lot better than Trump on mental sharpness. Her other job in the 50's 60's was managing the business end and accounting on her farm. She did not have dementia, but in her 80's she was no longer in charge of business and accounting on her farm. She still liked getting

My Great Grandma used to eat radishes, green onions, and Braunshweiger (sp?) Everyday for lunch. I guess why associate radishes with German food. Also why I was confused when Skeptics Guide to the Universe described German food as one rich heart attack.

Taking a break from shoveling snow. Our one neighbor was nice enough to snow blow the entry of our drive way! That helps a lot.

Our first big snow of the year. May get 10". It is not supposed to stop until 7am tomorrow. I am very glad 😊 I did not sign up for OT this weekend. I like the snow better if I do not have to drive in it.

I wouldn't have been able to comply on the German sweet treats anyway. Dad's side of the family decided we were American not German. It is kind of interesting what little bits still hung on. Some of this was a safety thing I think.

I was having racing thoughts all Thanksgiving. That is a schizophrenia thing. It makes it hard to focus. My portion of Thanksgiving dinner took me forever due to that. Also making it so I cannot sleep now.

Kind of an interesting read. I have been curious if sauerkraut radish/horseradish fall under bland white people food?

White people’s bland food isn’t just an internet meme. It’s a centuries-long obsession
Humans love flavor. Archeologists have found evidence that hunter-gatherers in Stone Age Europe used garlic mustard seeds (a broccoli relative with a mustardy, peppery kick) to season stews 6,000 year...
