when people say approvingly that MeToo is a dead movement, what they mean is they want men to be able to act like this without consequences
"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.

people easily comprehend autism is be different degrees of disabling in different people without any inherent limitations on how severe. with ADHD they think there is a limit and that even at its most disabling it can be overcome with motivation and virtue
My kids go to a "rich" public school. My daughter is 7 and cannot read; she is a sweet, caring, intelligent child, but if you spend a moment with her it is clear that she has ADHD an order of magnitude more serious than what you think of when you hear "ADHD." Anybody questioning her IEP can fuck off
"Rich kids are gaming disability accommodations to gain an unfair advantage" is actually very different from "America has an extra-time-on-tests problem" — and the author hasn't proved that either! Rich kids might just be more likely to be diagnosed.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

this is what happens when the culture can’t recognize misogyny for the glaring red flag it should be

women did a MeToo so unfortunately now we have to murder people on boats
To be clear, we're talking about a *literal* take-no-prisoners approach. This is not a metaphor. We're describing the Secretary of Defense in literal terms as a guy who is genuinely committed to doing war crimes

a way to avoid getting thrown under the bus for extrajudicially killing civilians in a time of peace is not extra judicially killing civilians in a time of peace
But it does worry me a little bit to see military officials angry about Bradley being thrown under the bus without a concurrent acknowledgement that he did in fact commit an obvious war crime.

I would think Bradley’s reputation would have been harmed by, you know, committing a war crime, not by somebody noticing he’d committed a war crime.

our government is straight up extrajudicially murdering people. it makes me sick knowing y’all are gonna keep reelecting the republican and democratic members of congress who empowered this
everyone is correctly noting that they’re throwing bradley under the bus, but they’re also throwing hegseth under it
REPORTER: Does the administration deny that that second strike happened, or did it happen and the administration denies that Hegseth gave the order?

LEAVITT: The latter. Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes. He worked well within his authority and the law.

They haven't even gone to the pretense of giving him some made-up official role and title, as they easily could and did during the first term. They're flaunting the lawlessness and patrimonialism, as if being a close relative of Trump is in and of itself enough to be conducting foreign policy.
We have a cabinet level Secretary of State, a diplomatic corps, Special Envoys, and Defense team to do this work.

“Son-in-law” is not a government job. Kushner does not represent us.

yes! these people are F A K E. interacting with them, spending time online complaining about them, things of this nature, all provide material support for informational attacks on america. the people who dehumanize leftists (or republicans) are not your friends. they are paid bad actors
I’m a moron for not knowing it was this lucrative. Explains everything about why lefties bash Bluesky on Twitter. He’s paying them to do it. I’ll shut up about trying to understand these folks. They work for Elon. Got it.

it will take a working congress. and american voters don’t want to face that that requires replacing senators and representatives of both parties
I don’t even really think this is the problem. The Constitution prohibits basically every terrible thing Trump has done. The problem is that our institutions have decided to ignore the Constitution. Can’t fix that by changing what it says.
This regime is making the best arguments possible that we need to fix the foundations of our democracy if we want to keep it.

the liberals could have told people anything the liberals wanted to tell them. congress got the same briefings the white house did
To a non-trivial number anti-anti-Trump pundits, Trump's chaotic response to COVID-19 was preferable to the liberals telling them that the response to a pandemic would require some rules and sacrifices

He’s literally just some guy, that’s the whole point of having a president and not a king. You can tell him to get bent and all he can do is sputter.
I can’t believe people in the room don’t push back. It doesn’t matter if he’s the president, part of holding him accountable is standing up to his bullying— especially if he’s doing it right in front of your face

destroying google search and twitter were both ops to interfere with the masses’ access to real time, accurate information
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

She has it exactly backwards. The domestic deployments to date are a much weaker case for being so manifestly illegal as to justify refusal; that's a high bar. The boat strikes are outright unambiguous murder, everyone in that chain down to the one pulling the trigger has had a clear duty to refuse.
Sen. Slotkin said today—to my surprise—that she's unaware of any illegal orders *so far*.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

I mean, I certainly do. Unrelenting opposition to corruption, prosecution and jail for Trump traitors, full-throated defense of the underprivileged, and celebration of America as a diverse and open nation where immigrants are welcomed, minorities are protected, and the government follows rules
Ok but the Dems need to run on a platform that signals a break with the status quo and the need to do big things and if you have another idea for that besides Dem socialist policies I'm all ears but I don't think you do so yeah Dems should be running on that platform.
