Yep, I was wondering what the odds are that Kegseth knows the difference between an Army (or Air force or Marine Corps) captain and a Navy captain. I'm thinking not great.

So Hegseth is trying to belittle Mark Kelly by referring to him as 'Captain', which was Kelly's highest rank. What Hegseth is ignorant of is that Captain is a very senior rank in the Navy, unlike the other Branch Service such as the Army.

When you draw a platoon leader like Hegseth, it’s your worst nightmare. You just ride it out until he’s gone and gets replaced by someone who isn’t a complete jackass. Only a fool like Trump would put one of them in charge of the entire defense department.
