The choices facing Labour aren't really any different from the ones they faced coming into office. UK growth is a little worse than expected, US tariffs a bigger drag, but the contours of the problems were known (a public sector in desperate need of funds, rising interest costs, little fiscal space)

I was happy to contribute to this @timeshighered.bsky.social piece on students' use of #GenerativeAI. It's clear the AI genie is out of the bottle, but students should not outsource their brains and use it as an educational silver bullet. We still need to build critical skills first.
