Agreed. In Germany (new post ww2 constitution) the Supreme Court & federal judges have 12 yr term limits and must retire from there at 68. It seems a good model to work from - also having a parliamentary system seems beneficial in many ways en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal...

We can do universal basic income right now, at the poverty level of $15k/year. No more robots required. It already makes sense to do. Replacing existing tax expenditures like the standard deduction would reduce its cost, and we'd save more than it costs in reduced spending on the impacts of poverty.

Indeed, its important to note that its those countries that have a socialism-focused democracy (rather than a capitalism-focused democracy) that express the most satisfaction with their way of life. America has elements of socialism in it, but it needs to stop equating socialism w/communism...
