On February 21st, 2021, I created and released a patch for Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60fps. Today I received a DMCA takedown notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment asking that I remove links to the patch I posted on the internet, so I've now done so

Don't get me wrong, that is one hell of a look but the oppressive weight of unchecked capitalism, the way technology can be used against people regardless of its original intended use, and the alienation are more important things to the genre to me than an 80s throwback look.

I love cyberpunk as a genre but man people lean too heavily on aesthetics instead of themes to define it. Not every story has to look like Blade Runner to be cyberpunk. We can adjust to modern trends seen in the real world. It doesn't have to be all neon and chrome.
