While I personally think the gradation between ICE and local police is pretty fine, I think this thread is spot on re: the thinking of the Dem political establishment.
Something that's important to understand about the Dem politician mentality.
Up until very recently--was this way when I was a campaign manager for Dem statewide races in 2014--LEO's (law enforcement organizations) were the most coveted endorsements you could get, even among Democrats. 1/x
