Thanks for letting me grab this one so soon after the last. It's absolutely adorable, can't expect the smols not to get curious about their wild counterparts. Best he doesn't try to bring it back to the lavvu though, lest it run amok or bite him.

Someone's about to experience some ~serious~ visions

It's a really pretty corner of the world indeed.

Well, the characters here more so than you, of course.

I haven't been ridden it in years honestly, and the last time I did the weather was very grey. Maybe I should change that, given I've been tempted to head down that way to see off the HST Castle Sets.

Historic maps are just very neat. Mostly for the railways, yes, but also for seeing how places have grown. Railmap Online and the National Library of Scotland are two sites I frequent quite regularly.

I mean, go far enough into the future and you don't know what nature'll be experimenting with. Or, worst case, it's still a Riddley Walker situation or something.

Imagine doing so, somehow travelling far into the future and discovering it's all cave foxes. And all you get when asking is "what's a Mona Lisa?"

Not me having a slightly mean desire to spoil someone's day like that.

Scent and stuff too, if your characters possess sharper senses like their animal counterpart. But that’s another inclusion non-furry writers have told me they find neat.

I started off using paws for hands and feet, but my A-Level Creative Writing lecturer pointed out how confusing that could be (while also saying he found the language adjustments for anthro characters neat). This led me to use paws for hands, and footpaws for feet, reasoning the former comes up more

Sounds like an ideal addition to a prehistoric morning routine, too.

It does help. I remember as a kid I’d just wander around my area, because I had an easier time imagining stuff while walking.

Should maybe consider doing it more again, when I finally get around to moving out.

I thought I would’ve been able to come up with something easily, but… took longer to think of one than expecte.

Queer little dung-lovers, as I heard them referred to as once. Maybe give them to Sana first, let him figure them out, then Kuveli can take some with a trip-sitter
November 15, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Yes, they're shiitake. No, don't tell Kuveli. He's doing a good job of convincing himself he's high, no need to start him on the real thing just yet.

Dice are something I've ummed and erred about for my setting too, but worried that while it's possible for my characters to make them it might seem out of plac.

But still, dice with symbolism instead of numbers, used for rituals by the shamans, and stolen for games by the kids.

One day, perhaps. I do have some bookmarks on people that, in time, I want to consider for a Sakara or Kuveli model/doll.
November 15, 2025 at 2:03 PM
It’s such a nice idea, but I wouldn’t want to insist you do it, as it is your own time and resources that would be used.

Slowly and surely getting drawn into becoming a prehistorical deer.
