Historic maps are just very neat. Mostly for the railways, yes, but also for seeing how places have grown. Railmap Online and the National Library of Scotland are two sites I frequent quite regularly.

I do like me some seemingly random or pointless railway alignments. And thanks to a chat on Discord the other day, you can enjoy them too.

Only one of these has geographical reasons for being the way it is. The others are all down to historical reasons.

Someone shared some art elsewhere, and I couldn't help but do a silly, low-effort edit of a meme @0laffson.bsky.social was nice enough to sketch a while back.

That's not to say things have been bad post-famine. Far from it in many ways, even if there were hard times. The gang persists too, always watching out for each other. Like Sakara here, offering parenting tips to a nervous soon-to-be Kuva-fah

Potato Kuveli may look cute, but he possesses only one thought.

I couldn't help myself...

Sakara was lucky to have bonded so quickly with the other Lentavohi kids, as adoptees don't always find their place in such a tightly-woven community. Those years between his parents' death and the famine, are years he will always remember fondly.

Obliged to share some photos from my last visit to Poland, as I'm currently going through them. Should go back some time, wouldn't be too difficult given my mother and her bf go to visit his family there, now and again.

There were quite a lot of leems at said zoo, and turns out leems can be quite photogenic. So I may or may not have lots of lemur photos now.

It took fifteen days, but the internet has now returned. And what do I have to show for it?

A couple hundred words, and a few animal photos after a trip to the new Bristol zoo.

And it’s getting stuck uploading images again. Let’s try this one at a time.

Learning that yote video is AI, I should have to do my part to post real animal photos…

Well, more low-quality gremlin photo than anything.

Som gratuitous food-posting, because it’s takeaway night at work.

Irresponsibly posting my location on social media

It's started getting a bit chilly again recently, as we head into winter. And you know what that means?

Big, warm coat time!

A second round never hurt anyone, I’m sure.

Dumb late night thought while sorting through more old photos:

Broke: paying premium for collector's edition pipboy
Woke: getting paid to to use the real thing (five or six years ago, granted)

I am in heaven with this lamb bowl, that is 1/3 the price of the last time I tried lamb at a proper restaurant.

Zero context thoughts that fall out of my head.

That said, definitely don't wear the miner's stuff as well as the experts do.

Recovered some photos from the old, dying laptop. Not sure how to feel about the second photo, given it was taken year after the first. Guess if I actually put a little more care into my shaving, it ends up removing a number of years and an amount of anxiety.

Taking a moment to enjoy some peace, and ask for favour on their hunting trip. It's always best to leave an offering too, and Sakara seems to think it's worth leaving his rather precious necklace. I'm sure his arrows will be blessed for it.

Post a Mage!

Or the closest you'll get to a mage in my setting. Sanakunta, the relatively young but skilled shaman of the Lentavohi, and Kuveli who is about to peek beyond the veil and glimpse what he's capable of.

Still love this piece by @katevenom.bsky.social
