Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

i’ve wondered a lot throughout my life about how Germany fell to Hitler. How people could believe the lies about Jewish people and other minorities. How a country could let something so terrible happen. It didn’t seem possible. Now I know it was a slow creep of one insanity after another.

honestly, even IF people WERE abusing the medicaid system by “being lazy” (they’re not) I STILL wouldn’t care, or take life-saving healthcare away from them. call me radical but I just believe human beings should be able to live and access to healthcare is a part of recognizing human dignity.
