I finally upgraded my plate carrier to something a bit nicer and lord, What a difference it made on my back during training today. It's a Ukrainian reproduction of the Crye AVS by Protec. Highly recommending it.

An experience I've come to find universal in this war. Just a couple of meters outside your blendage, the corpse of a soldier who you may have known, not known, helped, or even if they were friendly at all. Maybe rotting, maybe already leather. The smell, regardless; all of us on the front know it.
