Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Too many hard-luck stories in so many of their games this season (Galatasaray pen, United head injury etc). Ultimately the not-great teams leave themselves open to those margins and that's where Liverpool are.

Dan Burn has been shown a red card against Brentford, but should he have been sent off earlier?

Just after the hour mark, Stuart Attwell gave a yellow card to Dango Ouattara for simulation after the attacker went down in the box.

Laughable non-penalty call against Newcastle at the Gtech. The VAR not only missing the clear contact but also Dan Burn looking more guilty than OJ Simpson during that car chase.

Beyond Man City, other clubs which profit directly from emirati patronage should ask themselves some inconvenient questions; and if they do not of their own accord, we fans should be pressuring them into doing so. These other clubs very much include Arsenal FC.

Manchester City play a game of football today. Most of us will be watching. Which makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is why so few care about City’s owner playing an active role in a genocide so gruesome it can be seen from space. By @barneyronay.bsky.social

Virgil van Dijk reacting to Wayne Rooney, Enzo Maresca reacting to Wayne Rooney … maybe people in English football should just ignore the the former English footballer who is clearly saying things to promote his podcast and focus on other, more important things.

I was worried the finale of Celebrity Traitors would be an anticlimax; instead it was one of the greatest pieces of television I’ve ever seen. Utterly, utterly magnificent. Not sure anything that appears in that big black box at the far side of my living room will be as great again. Holy shit.

What was confirmed at Anfield last night is that when fit and together, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai is Liverpool’s best midfield combination, and pretty much the best midfield in the Premier League. Three superb footballers who complement each other superbly.
