I think I found a book reading hack
If the author kills a baby or child in the first chapter don’t read it
It’s not just that it’s dark, I mean that is part of it. But it’s the like cheap quick appeal to emotion
Perhaps this is just a me thing though

When I’m editing I always envy plotters. I’m not a total pantser but I change things half way through a novel and then have to go back and fix continuity so many times!

Couldn’t find a store bought roll I liked so I had to use an ATK recipe for fluffy rolls.
They were perfection
And I had the fun experience of feeling an ancestor reach though the veil to whisper ‘let them rise longer’
