it feels mean but I’m allowing myself to not feel as guilty that I call my parents even less bc 1) I don’t like getting long ass boomer lectures from my father for things I didn’t ask for 2) trauma dumped on by mom about all her frustrations with my dad.

I might just also be more irritable with the person than usual but idk I feel there’s some justification in me feeling mildly annoyed in being asked if I want a gift but you also find part of the reason it’s being bought is bc they benefit from it

After reading Strange Houses, picked up Strange Pictures and got REALLY into both of them. I think the former does a better job on connectivity and clues, the latter hits hard with the emotional rollercoaster and intensity of generational trauma
