A few weeks ago, I took my daughter into the @universityofiowa.bsky.social allergy clinic for a $500 visit that would be 80% paid by insurance.
Today, I discovered it was a $4000 visit with random insurance coverage for unknown reasons.

Hell no. I'm Native and don't feel a lick of pride or hope to know that a bunch of thieving and murderous colonizers have made our sacred bald eagle relatives the "official bird" of the US.

We are very surprised.
Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
