What, you didn’t think I’d let the 30th anniversary go by without acknowledging one of the greatest #ER episodes of all time… did you?

In place of my usual Tuesday essay, a few hundred words reflecting on “Hell and High Water” — the hour that turned George Clooney into a star.
'Hell and High Water' at 30: The ER Episode That Made Clooney a Star
Thirty years later, the ER classic that transformed George Clooney into a superstar still takes my breath away.

This movie is never available on planes despite being the perfect plane movie.

One of my favorite movies of the year. Hope it gets more eyeballs on streaming.
Roofman is a lot of fun, and offers Charming Potato at his most charming and his least potato-ish.

Here’s a starter pack:

Season 1 Joey? Knows what a syllable is.

Season 9 Joey? Opens a thesaurus for the first time and signs a letter “Baby Kangaroo Tribbiani.”
I always forget how loose #Friends was in Season 1. We got multiple cold opens where the characters just… whistled. Colonel Bogey, The Odd Couple, I Dream of Jeannie — pure early-series whimsy.

Wild that these #Friends guest stars never went on to do anything else.

A useless TV fact that lives rent-free in my brain: Walden Schmidt — Ashton Kutcher’s character on #TwoAndAHalfMen — became a billionaire by selling an iTunes rival called BlunGoGo to Microsoft… so they could bundle it with their “iPod killer,” the Zune.
I had one & one day it completely bricked. Wouldn’t charge or turn on, nothing. Turns out every single on in the world was doing the same thing.

Why? Because they’d forgot to program February 29th into them. They all worked fine the next day.

If they’d waited a day, they could’ve announced this on MS NOW.
The rebrandings will continue until morale and/or profit improves.

If only #TheConners had held out a few more months…
NEW YORK (AP) — A judge says he'll approve a $7 billion opioid settlement with the Sacklers' Purdue Pharma, including money for victims.

Not me getting off the Ratatouille ride at Epcot, only to discover why Patton Oswalt has been disappeared from Bluesky… 👀

I just don’t believe Will Ferrell is buying a plane ticket using PayPal. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Now on to Sheldon telling Penny how he knocks 3 times because he walked in on his father with another woman — which, as we learned on #YoungSheldon, never actually happened.

When the prequel ended, #BigBangTheory EP Steve Holland confirmed for me that Sheldon, to this day, doesn’t know the truth.
November 14, 2025 at 3:14 AM
The episode where Sheldon and Amy first move across the hall, and Leonard and Penny finally have the apartment to themselves, is an all-timer. #BigBangTheory

Just noticed a flat-screen CRT in Scott’s office with a built-in DVD player.

It’s supposed to be 1995. 😭

CBS is quietly flipping #TheNeighborhood and #DMV on Dec. 1, handing the freshman workplace comedy a one-night-only 8 pm showcase. Maybe it’s a tryout for next season — or maybe CBS wants to see if giving #FBI a stronger lead-in can lift those sagging Monday ratings.

Psst, HBO Max… do the same with Halt and Catch Fire, k? Thanks!
“Mad Men” will stream on HBO Max starting Dec. 1, in 4K for the first time - and roughly 23 years after HBO passed on developing the show. (It’s currently only on AMC+ in the U.S.)

Anyone who says #Friends wasn’t good in Season 10 must’ve forgotten that Joey learning French is immediately followed by Phoebe renaming herself Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock.
There are two types of people in this world:

1. People who know Joey Tribbiani learning French is peak comedy.

2. People who are wrong.

Everyone who’s ever bitched about reboots and remakes should be speaking out against this Saving Silverman remake.

No one told him it had to be four different movies.
