Hello. What a refreshing change this seems to be. I’m following everyone back and hoping for the best 😊

Another London sketch dug out of a portfolio, done on a Sunday in 1992 sitting in a doorway on Ludgate Hill looking up to St Paul's. I found another St Paul's drawing where the paper has deteriorated but this one has survived OK.

Sketched in a riverside garden in Hemingford Abbots, Cambs, a collection of garden objects with a creative display of plants (see alt text for more description). Watercolour and Indian ink done on the spot with no later reworking.

🤯 This is an angle I never imagined getting! I wish it was a bit sharper ‘cause I’ll likely never get this shot again. Hard to see it as a hummingbird when frozen in time like this. 🪶 🥶

Two small humans (3 & 5?) in pretty party dresses are bolting around people
Then outside to look at a nearby apple orchard
Then back inside
Then back outside
Fistfuls of lollies* clutched in their hands. (1)

The colour choice is from the Delta signal flag, itself indicating a difficulty manoeuvring.
When I was learning the signals my father enjoyed a regular Friday night in the pub followed by a walk home. I always loved that his coat was yellow with a distinct blue horizontal band.
These things here are emergency wreck buoys, and if you're thinking the colour scheme looks somewhat like a circus big top, just wait until you hear about the clown show that inspired their introduction.
