this year around the sun has been awful in many ways, but wonderful in others. i wrote the equivalent of three books, had surgery for my PMDD, finished my degree, got obsessed with tennis, and realised i’m trans and started hormones!

Here's another piece of writing advice, that's particularly apposite on this website: Be bored.
Ignore your phone, step away from the computer, go for a walk, do some gardening, just stare out the fucking window. Quiet your brain and let your imagination free.

Me: After 7 years of work and a dev doc longer than the LOTR trilogy, I'm finally writing my novel about a French-inspired vertically-stratified city where a man conscripted into a gang of exterminators hunts a mad centipede god in order to save his sister
