I like to talk about Japanese role playing games, magical girls, giant robots, tokusatsu, ducks and girls with big hats.
This is one of the best promo artworks that has ever been released for Blue Archive.

This one's not quite as obvious since you can't move the camera far enough to get a good look, but I think every stage is also supposed to be just a board on that table and I think that's really cool.

I really like the way the mission select screen is a table with a map in the council room that you interact with and then choose the location from.

I really like the presentation in the narration cutscenes but then it changes to 3D models and it does not look quite as impressive.

RTS games aren't usually my cup of tea but let's see if I feel differently about this one

One thing that bothers me about Masou Kishin is how you never deal more damage than the enemy's current HP. It's kinda underwhelming since you don't get to know how strong your attack actually was.

In the second part you choose a robot to fight against a boss alongside you. You don't control the robot though but instead you hit specific parts of the board to have the robot perform specific actions against the boss and you lose if your robot's HP runs out (or if your ball falls off)

I don't feel like playing anything big after just finishing a great game so out of curiosity I tried out Super Robot Pinball on GBC.

One of the most insane games I've ever played, I loved it.

Jack is one of the protagonists of all time

Genuinely incredible games in many ways but also look at these cats

I don't remember much about FF1 (should probably replay it some day) so I'm probably going to miss a lot of SoP's callbacks to it, but so far it's been pretty cool as a bizarro remake of FF1

I already think this game might be amazing

I am going to kill Chaos

I checked the Wiki and it's nice to see it confirmed she is indeed Finnish but what the fuck is this disgusting romanisation the Wiki uses?

I am really impressed with how many facial portraits this game has for all of its characters. There's so many different emotions on display here and I don't think I've ever seen another SNES game have so many dialogue portraits.

Oh this is really cool. MK has a quick continue mechanic where the game will instantly load your latest quick save (completely skipping title screen etc.) if you hold select while booting the game.

I would love to see this in Fire Emblem or other really hard SRPG that makes you reset often.

This game looks really gorgeous in general too. It's always a joy playing late SNES releases because they're almost guaranteed to have some of the prettiest pixel art you've ever seen

This ripple effect in every episode's title card looks really cool
November 25, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Masaki makes a lot of good faces
November 25, 2025 at 4:34 PM
This game is from 1996 and it's already genre aware enough to call isekai a cliche

I'm not even joking, this is an OG game but the opening exposition is literally just Dunbine's plot
November 25, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Super Robot Wars except it's nothing but Dunbine for some reason
