In periods of collapse, people are more vulnerable to cults. I think about this all the time. The human mind craves simple explanations for complex problems. Closed belief systems promise certainty, belonging, and the prospect of control.

Any Blu-ray player should have backward compatibility with DVDs, I just mentioned Sony because I've had good luck with their low-to-mid priced players.

You can get a Sony Blu-ray player for ~$100 and it'll also play DVDs; libraries might have a mix of formats at this point

I forgot who it was, but another writer on here's take was the note-giver was correctly identifying that a problem existed even though they were almost always wrong about the solution

A film/TV manager once told me that he asked his clients to always try to take a note in the best possible faith and ask if it was secretly the most brilliant note ever given. Most times, it won't be, but turning off your kneejerk hostility will often help you find something in it worth considering.
