As someone who loves Suspiria, Blade, Bacurau, Melancholia, Dancer in the Dark, Breaking the Waves etc etc, why is it when I think of Udo Kier this is the first film that comes to mind?

You can definitely count me in the pro-Alpha camp. Many layers to unravel but I was totally immersed. And luckily came with a fascinating, wide-ranging Q&A with Julia Ducournau and Tahar Rahim, at once both touching and with scintillating nuts and bolts technical insights.

Tonight I experienced for the first time in many years the thrill of seeing a finished Stewart Lee show without having seen it in various incomplete incarnations beforehand. Absolutely would recommend – especially with this one. Was even lucky enough to get a bonus Glasgow treat.

@filmhouseedinburgh.bsky.social When booking LFF tickets I selected the seats I wanted/needed then saw this. Can we just have the seats we booked? I don’t want to have to get there super early for the right seats at every screening.

I went to see Tarkovsky’s Nostalgia at the local indie cinema in Sheffield tonight. The guy who put it on kept checking his phone throughout the showing and even took photos of the screen. We had a chat on Instagram…
