45 minute timelapse of Vredenburg in Utrecht, which can only be used by people on public transport, walking or cycling. Buses do not get delayed in queues or behind people cycling and people cycling are kept safe. You get safer cycling, faster transit, quieter streets, and a city that actually works

Today, the German Green party passed a resolution that not only demands a permanent end to #chatcontrol, but also demands a right to encryption to be added to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the #europeanunion!

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Very disappointed none of you told me that Lewis Mumford made a 1963 film about car dependency, and it's available on YouTube.

Here’s something that’s really important for everyone to understand.

If we design our cities just for cars, they fail everyone, including drivers.

If we design our cities with many great CHOICES in how to get around, they work better for everyone, including drivers.

Spread the word.

Is it Amsterdam? Copenhagen?

No, it's Paris!

In the last few years, the French capital has done so much to make cycling a great and efficient way to move around the city. And now they have one of the best problems a city can have: bicycle congestion.

Batteries are coming to Europe. Earlier this year Europe’s largest battery storage site went live at Blackhillock, Scotland.

The facility has a capacity of 300MW/600MWh.

Much larger batteries are under development: A huge 1 GW / 4 GWh system is being constructed in Jänschwalde, Germany.

No one should have to choose between a busy road or a dark path. When cycling’s safer for women, it’s safer for everyone 🚲

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.

His politics can win anywhere.

Or actually bring in a fair democratic process where everyone's votes count equally.

I’m one of many who say emphatically that when it comes to the safe, protected bike & active transport infrastructure our cities need, paint isn’t infrastructure.

It’s a true statement where vulnerable people are surrounded by unsafe vehicles.

But painted bus-only lanes?

Smart & transformative.
