I’m one of many who say emphatically that when it comes to the safe, protected bike & active transport infrastructure our cities need, paint isn’t infrastructure.

It’s a true statement where vulnerable people are surrounded by unsafe vehicles.

But painted bus-only lanes?

Smart & transformative.

I this should be the messaging by everyone everywhere. Fly the official flag of antifa and let people know what it is

The problem isn’t money or resources it’s power and how it’s wielded. Money and resources are just the tools to leverage power. That is why it’s a catch 22. We need people with your mindset to have the power.

Thorbeckeplein, Amsterdam in 1983 and today. I can't actually stand in the exact same spot as the photographer did in 1983 or I'd be among the tables between the tree and the buildings on the left!
In 1983 there is car parking to the left, two rows of car parking to the right and more car parking and another road behind that. Today it is all pedestrianised with a bike lane running through it. Outdoor seating replaces a lot of the car parking

The USA is defined by its constitution not its executive. There is no more USA when the constitution has been wholesale ignored by the executive

Zeedijk, Amsterdam in 1980 and today.
In 1980 the road is open to cars, is wide and has cars parked on it. Today there are rising bollards preventing driving on this street and all car parking removed, replaced by outdoor seating outside a pub

All I want in life is to persuade everyone, when encountering politics & culture, to ask, "why are we talking about this?" I mean that very literally: anything you encounter on your screens reflects a choice. Someone covered that, talked about that, rather than the many other things out there. Why?

“Paris is an incredible example of how a city can transform when political will meets smart data,” says one of the report’s lead authors. “We wanted to understand exactly which factors made this happen.”

Frans Halsstraat, Amsterdam in 1983 and today
There are no trees in 1983 and the road is tarmac. Today it is paved and very green. A young girls cycles on her bike

Like I said. Policy minutiae. Nothing to do with the technology and everything to do with shitty policy

Here’s the maths on what it would actually take (ie not much new land use at all). It seems to me you are confusing the technology with policy minutiae landartgenerator.org/blagi/wp-con...

Anyways a field isn’t “nature” just because it’s green.

No confidence votes should require that we know the replacement.

We need something like the Darwin Award but for hypocrisy. They killed Aaron Swartz for a fraction of the copyright infringement they are now sponsoring at a state level.
