I honestly think about this a lot. Every major public tragedy, instance of police brutality, or social unrest. I think of the kids that are seeing, knowing it’s horrible, and watching their adults have conversations about “they should have obeyed the rules.”
Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

I've seen people say that the officer who murdered Nicole Good should be charged with murder, and to that I add that every officer who kept medics from arriving, who barred doctors from helping should also be charged under conspiracy doctrine.

I haven’t worked since 2022 because of Long Covid. But I recently got on antidepressants and it was like night and day. I have a job now. I know they aren’t for everyone, my friend just has a bad reaction to them. But use with caution, don’t ban them outright for everyone.
