The BBC should launch a "Stuff Trump" crowdfunder, with an assurance that all funds raised will be used solely to fight Trump's lawsuit. They'd raise millions.
Presumably the calculation will be different for the BBC. If there’s a widespread public view that the BBC shouldn’t submit to bullying, then resisting, even if more public money gets spent, may be preferable.

I wonder what it is about Rachel Reeves that they hate: a woman who went to a comprehensive school, who rose from relatively humble origins to the top and who still speaks with a South London accent. I wonder why they hate her so much. It's a mystery.

4. You see, the problem is this: History Reclaimed don’t know much about British colonialism. They’re not actually interested in it. They are a private company funded to prevent any truthful examination of the past that might challenge a right wing, white-centred version of the national story.

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

1/5 It was entirely predictable that The Telegraph would jump on @DavidOlusoga’s Empire series to fight its right wing culture war for control of our public history. Let’s see what they’ve done:

Matt Goodwin is, in some sense, a worse person than Nigel Farage. Nigel, from his schooldays, has been so marinated in racism he can't imagine thinking differently. Matt wasn't a racist until a few years ago, then he decided to become one.

This is exactly what the recent Trump-BBC 'scandal' was designed to achieve. The BBC is now self-censoring criticisms of Trump in the name of "impartiality"
