Some great scenes from wonderful Sussex today-the South Downs at Devil’s Dyke, Brighton Pavilion, St Peter’s Church and the Palace Pier. I never tire of this beautiful part of the world, and on a sunny day like today it is truly glorious.

My first visit to Guildford Cathedral and it was a huge pleasure to meet Dean Bob, members of Chapter, the Director of music and the dedicated volunteers who make this 20th century cathedral tick. If you haven’t been, you really must come and enjoy. I think it is inspiring and beautiful.

A sunny Sunday morning at Lincoln’s Inn Chapel for the Wigs and Mitres service where I delivered a lecture on judges and judgement in the age of AI. A huge pleasure to see many old friends and an excellent lunch afterwards! Thank you to the Preacher and Dean for the invitation.

Delighted to have contributed to this new book on Education Secretaries. My choice was Kenneth Baker, whose 3 years marked some of the biggest reforms since 1944 - National Curriculum, local management of schools & direct grant maintained schools were hallmarks of the 1988 Education Reform Act.

It’s that time of year-the annual footage of terrifying maritime scenes. This timeI am taking the waters once again in wonderful #Tenby #pembrokeshire. The water is still warm, despite a deepening November temperature! #sea #autumn #tenby. It was warmer than my Pacific dip last year!

Some wonderful and well-preserved floor mosaics from 2nd Century AD in the House of Dionysos in Paphos - I enjoyed a visit to this site of Roman, Hellenic and other antiquities last week on a warm and sunny November afternoon in beautiful #paphos #cyprus

Scenes from Nicosia on my first visit to Cyprus. The Green Line is a legacy of the 1974 Turkish invasion & a reminder of how imperfect compromises can endure in the absence of feasible solutions. The Church of Panayias Phaneromenis is a delight. The memorial relates to the 1955-59 independence fight

And I hate needles but here is a picture to remind me how brave I am! The lovely NHS Blood and Transplant team looked after me again today as I donated blood. I endure it all for the squash and chocolate biscuits afterwards.

A few pics from glorious Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford - the excellent stained glass is a brand new Prodigal Son window by Thomas Denny which was dedicated in September. An Augustinian priory remodelled by Wolsey in the 1520s on the founding of the college & then taken over by Henry VIII.

Inspiring scenes at Salisbury Cathedral during my visit this week. The roof space is huge; mighty medieval oak beams underpin it all. The spire, restored about forty years ago,was built about 100 years after the rest of the cathedral and is a heavy load to say the least!

Two of the four churches in the United Benefice of Wanborough and Lyddington-St Andrew’s Wanborough, one of only three parish churches with a tower & spire and St Mary’s Bishopstone-near to the Royal Oak where we had a lovely lunch. A splendid Sunday at home in #eastwiltshire @churchofengland.org

Saw this beauty at the Royal Automobile Club last night . It isn’t actually quite 007 as it is a 1959 Aston Martin DB4 (more obviously different from the rear) but still an absolute delight to see #astonmartin #db4
