@exetercathedral.bsky.social is a masterpiece of Decorated architecture with two Norman towers to boot! Dean Jonathan & the team help ensure that this special place of worship continues to serve the people of Devon as it has done for hundreds of years in the Diocese of Exeter @churchofengland.org
Two of the four churches in the United Benefice of Wanborough and Lyddington-St Andrew’s Wanborough, one of only three parish churches with a tower & spire and St Mary’s Bishopstone-near to the Royal Oak where we had a lovely lunch. A splendid Sunday at home in #eastwiltshire @churchofengland.org
Visiting Oxford Cathedral to meet the Dean and other senior team
members of the team who make this very special Cathedral, at the heart of Christ Church College @ox.ac.uk a place of living, breathing worship @churchofengland.org
Saw this beauty at the Royal Automobile Club last night . It isn’t actually quite 007 as it is a 1959 Aston Martin DB4 (more obviously different from the rear) but still an absolute delight to see #astonmartin #db4
Thanks to friends for some great shots from @royalparkshalf.bsky.social today - I look a lot cooler, calmer and collected that I felt at the time! Glad to be fundraising for @parkinsons.org.uk events.parkinsons.org.uk/fundraisers/... #royalparkshalarathon2025
Lovely to be back whitehartwroughton for supper with friends-good to see some neighbours too. Wroughton is a special village and my #eastwiltshire home for over 15 years. We have welcomed and accommodated growth and development over the years but it has to be sustainable!
Thank you to @InnerTemple for inviting me to deliver a Reader’s Lecture last night and thanks to everyone for attending in person and online. A lively Q and A session too- all on AI and Justice and how this isn’t just another bolt-on technology.
My first visit to Manchester Cathedral and what a delight it was. From the beehives on the roof to the plans to open up the West Door, this is a welcoming and open place. Pleased to see Bishop David, Dean Rogers and the team all working closely together to further the Mission @churchofengland.org
Honoured and pleased to have come to Canterbury Cathedral this morning to hear the historic announcement of Rt Rev Dame Sarah Mullally as the 106th @archbishopofcanterbury.org
The Opening of the Legal Year took place @westminsterabbey.bsky.social on Wednesday. Delighted to go with friends and colleagues from the professions and judiciary. This annual service and the Lord Chancellor’s breakfast in Westminster Hall marks the start of the Michaelmas Term sittings.
Having a lovely day at home in East Wiltshire-helping Cllrs Gary Sumner and Matt Hinton in Upper Wanborough, doing a 6k run in Wroughton and Wichelstowe as I prepare for the Royal Parks Half Marathon & enjoying local produce from my friends at Costow Farm #wroughton #upperwanborough #eastwiltshire.
One for Lego and Lord Of The Rings buffs-a labour of love building Rivendell over the past month or so. Loving the minifigures gathering for the Council of Elrond-Bilbo’s room is particularly good!
Explored Peterborough Cathedral from top to bottom yesterday - thanks to Dean Christopher for an excellent tour and discussion. Visited the tomb of Queen Katharine of Aragon and climbed the central tower too. If you haven’t been, then this is an absolute must!
Visiting magnificent Peterborough Cathedral to meet the Dean, members of Chapter and staff - an absolute gem which contains the tomb of Katharine of Aragon and a superb Norman arcade. Delighted to speak at the CAFA Conference, with COOs and finance officers from cathedrals all over England
Lovely to be back at the Bell Pub with friends from Ramsbury to celebrate my birthday! East Wiltshire, my home for 16 years, is such a great place to live! #birthdays #wiltshire #ramsbury

Bishops in the House of Lords have continued to discuss the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill today.

The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, warned that this legislation would unleash a ‘fundamental’ change for the worse in society, putting vulnerable people at risk.
Remarkable St Cadoc’s Church, Llancarfan in the Vale of Glamorgan-a delightful return visit to see this church dating from the 12th century with its incredible wall paintings found in 2008. A cradle of Christianity for 1500 years, as St Cadoc founded a monastery here in the 6th century.
Great to meet Dean Abi, members of Chapter and staff at Sheffield Cathedral. Music outreach to local state schools is strong and is rejuvenating the Choir. The Archer Project is working with local homeless people and has expertise in addiction treatment, neurodiversity & trauma @churchofengland.org

Just beaten the rain and run 8k in 51 minutes. This is good for me and I feel much stronger and more resilient thanks to my regular Pilates and gym training sessions. All part of my prep for the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 12th October-more soon about the fundraising effort I am putting in.
COMING ON 18th SEPTEMBER! British By-Elections 1769-2025 with Iain Dale. Delighted to have worked with him once again-I wrote the chapter on the 1931 Westminster St George’s By-election.
