I don't think the problem is playing the system, but I'd say over-diagnosis potentially has its own risks. And whether a child is diagnosed or not often seems to depend on whether their parents push for it or not.

I do wonder what impact a mild diagnosis of ADHD, autism etc does to some children. I agree that anyone with moderate or severe anything should be fully supported in school. work etc but with mild cases you have a label and often not much else. Most people I know would be diagnosed with something.
