"Each token is a item in the game and owned by your wallet"

"Oh so like items in my RuneScape bank?"

"No it's- you can take it to other games and trade or sell it to other wallets."

"Oh so like I'll be able to use my custom lightsaber in Spider-Man?"

"No, uhh.."

Full agree on PS4 graphics, they were the last big leap we got and everything since then has been steeply diminishing returns where you need to zoom in on a side-by-side comparison to know the difference 😂

SoD is a game with crunchy voxel graphics and low-res normal-mapped textures so you'd think the biggest performance hog would be the live city simulation, but it's not, it's the raytraced lighting that can't be disabled. My current GTX 1080 can't even keep up with it which is nuts.

Very true, I do recall a time about a decade ago when Java performance was getting iffy, but I don't think that was Minecraft's fault as it was a major reason Jagex moved RuneScape's client away from Java during that time.

An example on the other end of the spectrum is Shadows of Doubt-

Here's hoping EA was paying attention to that detail when counting BF6's successes.

Overinvesting their own money in AI is only one danger to big publishers, consumer hardware becoming a desert is another and I don't think publishers that ignore that fact are gonna make it.

It's a strategy that worked well for WoW when Blizzard aimed to make sure their MMO could run on generic consumer hardware of the time.

And much more recently it's a strategy that worked for DICE when they chose to ignore fancier graphics options like RTX for Battlefield 6

Somehow I haven't quite gotten used to my mom texting me happy new years 3 hours in advance 😂

My toddler is adamant that number is actually pronounced UMBNA so I'm convinced that spelling it any particular way is overrated 👍

Bonus wireframe and rig shot, I deleted the ik bones for now as I continue refining the weight paints, I'll add some better ones back in later.

Short version, I decided to tackle this model for an original SP story mod being made since nobody else was willing to animated creatures for this game 😎

Sadly the above texture is toast now since I ended up doing lot of retopo on the body so it would animate better (the original body mesh was a kitbash from the KOTOR Tuk'ata model) but overall I'm much much happier with the creature's proportions and how it deforms now.

Here's some vertex colors,
