Middle school teacher interested in politics, public schools, privatization efforts and sports #godawgs
Instead of trying to make schools more like prisons we should probably try to address the root causes of why the society we’ve built has so many young people wanting to slaughter their teachers and classmates
The GA legislature is again considering and advancing legislation which could cost taxpayers BILLIONS in the name of “school safety” when it’s really about kickbacks to vendors. Instead of metal detectors and drones, here’s some policies which could actually make kids safer:

This is a very obvious election year stunt – fiscally impossible – put forward so Republicans running for higher office can claim Democrats “voted against the biggest tax cut in the state’s history”

We are calling on every GAE member to contact your state legislators and urge them to support HB 1244, legislation designed to mandate protected teacher planning time across our state.
Teacher planning time is not a luxury — it is essential to delivering high-quality instruction.

Many places in GA already have effective tax caps that favor homeowners. This would be much worse by ending homeowner taxes & capping property taxes. Would hit renters hard & create more faux austerity in metro Atlanta.

Targeted income-based circuit breakers for owners & renters are the answer.

Georgia has a flat tax - meaning eliminating the income tax will disproportionately benefit wealthy taxpayers

If Tillery truly wanted to help families struggling to pay for their groceries or gas, he'd propose a graduated income tax

JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.

With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.

Go off, queen
Almost every major speech I've read of Hillary Clinton's, I've noticed how she laces them with Christian themes, which makes sense given her Methodist upbringing. Reading this, I thought "oh, this is a lady who knows her Bible."

Hawks are in a rebuild in a year I expected a playoff run
They should hold onto the NOP pick in a deep draft and try to land a 1st option to pair with Jalen
I like the McCollum/Kispert acquisitions for team culture
CJ’s style of play is too ball dominant/slow to be on the floor with Jalen and NAW

I’m not an expert on ramming people with a car but if I were to try to run someone down I wouldn’t cut the wheel as hard to the right as I could.
🧵In my expert opinion as a researcher of vehicle ramming attacks, what has been publicly described in the video evidence does not support the claim that Renee Nicole Good was attempting a deliberate ramming attack when she was shot in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. 1/7

This glib statement is all the more risible when you recall how many law enforcement officers used their vehicles as weapons against protesters in 2020... and how many Republican-dominated states *sought to legalize killing protesters with vehicles* as a reaction to the demonstrations

K-12 would be getting $1.3 billion (15%) more per year. #gapol
