Something I’ve discovered: The power of doing random things.

If you really want to understand more about yourself, discover your strengths and limitations: you must go out from your comfort zone and try new things.

How can you truly know what are you passionate about if you haven’t experienced it?

Piazza del Campo (“Field square”) one day after the “Palio” competition. Dating back to the 17th century, it features ten jockeys representing ten of the city’s 17 historic contrade, competing in a horse race. It embodies intense rivalries, including historical parades and contrade celebrations.

« Nature never hurries, yet everything is accomplished.
The patient drift of clouds across endless sky,
and the silent turning of seasons,
she teaches us the art of simply becoming. »

Nature does not speak, it simply is. Photos by me.

On the left Saudi petroglyphs from 6,000 years ago which depict a lush savanna with many animals, now a desert due to climate shifts. As a nature lover, I love historical documentations on how environments evolve. On the right, my attempt to make a petroglyph during vacations 😂

Anne Boleyn’s portraits were often altered after her execution in 1536.
The physical deformities were a fabrication by a propagandist, Nicholas Sander, in 1585. He sought to discredit her daughter, Elizabeth I, by vilifying her mother.
A woman’s story which reminds us to question narratives.

This article comes from 5 years of obsessive and self-taught digging into storytelling. I spent nearly two weeks organizing the mountains of notes that I have. I hope you will find useful my systematic approach; and inspiring as well for your own writing journey.

Did you know that Cleopatra's birthday was closer to today than it was to the day when the first Egyptian pyramid was completed, by around 600 years.
Ancient Egypt was about as old to the Romans as they are to us (2000 years).

There are 37,000 columns at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland; these are so geometrically perfect that legends say were created by a giant.
Real cause: During the Paleocene there was an intense volcanic activity. As the lava mass cooled, cracks propagating down created pillarlike structures.

Dante Alighieri “fun” fact: he was actually a battlefield veteran.
Long before he wrote the Inferno, he was a "feditore" (a front-line cavalryman) at the Battle of Campaldino in 1289. He was a warrior-poet who risked his life for his city (Florence) that exiled him under threats of being beheaded.

The Antikythera Mechanism is a 2,000-year-old bronze Greek device. It’s considered the world's first known analog computer and it was used to predict astronomical positions.
It was discovered in a shipwreck near Antikythera in 1901 and it featured over 30 interlocking gears.
