Libraries rock. (And apparently there's still a judge out there who agrees with that statement.)
The Institute of Museum & Library Services has restored all previously canceled federal grants to libraries, following a ruling by a federal judge

"Restoration of these grants is a massive win for libraries of all kinds in all states."
ALA welcomes reinstatement of all federal IMLS grants to libraries
Today, the American Library Association (ALA) greeted an announcement by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) that it had reinstated all the agency’s grants.

I assure you that is really me in the corner. We did, in fact, win this inaugural trivia competition. No surprise: My primary contributions were in the "film adaptations" category and suggesting we order Guinness. LITERARY TRIVIA CHAMPIONS!
Victory tastes like steak fries and Guinness: The team known as Oh No Albany celebrates its win in the first edition of @nyswi.bsky.social lit trivia night.

Not sure what I love more: That this film is a locally shot '80s-style action-comedy about a blind cop who rides a motorycle and fights gun traffickers... or that it's a sequel to a film that was never actually made. It premieres next week in Schenectady. #filmsky
‘Blind Cop 2’ heads to Schenectady for NY premiere
Syracuse filmmaker Alec Bonk’s indie film inspired by 1980s action classics will have its New York premiere at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady.

"Even if (a Ramones reunion) had been a possibility at some point in the past two decades, Ramone doesn’t believe it would have happened. In fact, he finds the entire concept of nostalgia-based reunions from long-in-the-tooth groups to be distasteful."

Absolutely fascinating piece about the race to save decaying musicians' master tapes as reported by Ben Sisario at the Times. Here's a gift link so you can read it.

I suspect this might not be 100% legit licensing, but I prefer to imagine a scenario in which someone pitched WB like, "Hear me out: OFFICIAL BATMAN STREET-SWEEPING TRUCKS. Because who's going to clean up the city better than Batman, right? Right?!"

Some truly amazing art here, created by some supremely talented artists. The Times Union's @schneidlee.bsky.social talked to the creators behind some of those gorgeous, eye-catching murals that have been popping up around the region.
At schools, libraries, businesses and more, murals are on display in the Capital Region
The artists discuss the inspiration behind their works and how they bring these projects across the finish line.

Question for hospital & urgent care workers: Do you typically see a surge in injuries the weekend after Thanksgiving, when (I assume) most people who celebrate Christmas decide to hang lights, etc? Wondering as I climb up & down a rickety ladder tonight after seeing so many neighbors doing the same.

I try to visit local comic shops while traveling. Dropped by Paper Asylum in Beverly, Mass., during a break from family holiday stuff. Great shop w/ wonderful local creator section, store deco & art supplies.
