Republicans forced the longest government shutdown in American history AND tried to deny SNAP benefits to 42 million people during the shutdown. While Republicans were focused on cruelty, I was fighting w/ everything I had to release SNAP funding & support our children, elders, & disabled neighbors.

President Trump and Secretary of Labor Chavez-DeRemer have been leading a months-long, coordinated assault on disabled workers’ right to equal opportunity and freedom from discrimination... (1/2)

Republicans are voting today to further dismantle the social safety net, but the fight does not end with this vote. You elected me to represent and fight for you, and that is exactly what I will continue to do. Our communities demand, and deserve, better.

Welcome *Congresswoman* Adelita Grijalva!

Today I will vote NO on the continuing resolution.

Our communities demand, & deserve, better. They deserve health care they can afford & a government that functions. This continuing resolution is another false choice from a Republican majority that can only govern through fear, chaos, and cruelty.

Time and again, Speaker Emerita Pelosi has stood courageously in the storm to defend democracy and uplift those most in need.

She reminds us daily that governance is a moral act, and that we have a communal obligation to continue to repair the breach that has taken root in this country.

This Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to thank all who have served for your deep service and sacrifice.

I will continue to work to defend, uplift, and honor our vets in Congress.

At a time when millions of Americans can’t put food on the table & are being forced to work for no pay, Speaker Johnson’s refusal to bring the House of Representatives back into session is unacceptable. Republicans in Congress must immediately return to D.C. & get back to work for the people. (1/2)

As a mother and widow who has been deeply affected by the American medical system, I will NOT vote for a funding bill that does not extend ACA subsidies.

Republicans are holding Americans’ health care hostage, we must demand a funding bill that keeps health care affordable and accessible.

A judge ordered Trump to disburse SNAP benefits. Then turned around and appealed that decision, denying millions of people food and creating more confusion.

Let's be clear, while Trump throws lavish parties for his billionaire friends he is CHOOSING to cut off SNAP for 42M people across the country.

Speaker Pelosi’s story is not finished. It is still being written in the conscience of this Congress and in the fight for the soul of this country.

The administration has stated that they will only PARTIALLY fund SNAP through the MIDDLE of November, with no indication of when this funding will actually hit people's accounts. (2/4)

The Trump Administration has been refusing to release $5 billion in SNAP contingency funds and choosing to let 44,000 households in CA-12 go hungry. Now, the administration has been ordered by the courts to release the funds through November. (1/4)

Our traditions, cultures, and collective memories will continue to power us forward. Thank you Unity Council for 30 years of this incredible event and creating a space for thousands in the Bay Area to remember and honor their loved ones.

It was incredible to join members of the community today in Fruitvale for Unity Council’s Día de los Muertos Festival.

This year's theme was “aqui estamos y no nos vamos/we are here and we’re not leaving” - a powerful reminder for this moment.

I joined @sup-nikkifbas.bsky.social yesterday to provide information on Trump’s cruel CHOICE to withhold available funding for SNAP and let 44,000 households in CA-12 go hungry.

Despite this cruelty, and ongoing court cases compelling USDA to fund SNAP, in Alameda County we take care of our own.
