Game designer, programmer, writer, martial arts nut, polyam, and Guildford area sartorial bad example. He/they. ex: National Film & Television School, SMG, Larian.
The thing that drew me to the NFTS was the 100% project-based curriculum. And we made software - not board game/paper mockups. We ended up with like 5 .exes at the end of the course, which was a HUGE draw for me.

I took the Games Design & Development course at the NFTS and, while the teaching was excellent, the thing that landed me my first job was the relentless networking they had us do, and the large number of industry people they brought in. The school has a good rep, so recruiters would come to us.

Like many people here have already said, doing nothing even a remotely related to game dev. I was fortunate(?) to burn out into an industry-wide crash that forced me to do nothing for like 6 months while my wife supported us both.

I'm proud of my own individual work, but each game release is less pride and more a of just a milestone, if that makes sense? Permission to rest.

You're gonna blink, it'll be the end of the day, and you'll think "hey that wasn't so bad". 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

I've started using "NPC behaviour logic" when I'm talking about my roles, and I have only once had someone pick up the fact that I'm avoiding saying AI.

Part of why Netflix seemingly can't produce anything good or memorable is that "showing people exactly what they want" sucks the life out of artistic creation. No one has their life changed by a movie created in a lab to appeal to their exact marketable demographic.

I'd be happy to give these a look for you! I'm a native speaker and am also suffering from Online Poisoning, so I should be able to help you out on editing.

Truly the most abrasive thing about The Butterfly Site is that people are obssessed with talking about how Things Are Done Over Here in a way that ignores how the platform is built capaciously, allowing many of the same bad behaviors (and actors) from other sites.
