I find this to be especially true of print and film-based physical media in/around PGH: having Eides, HPB, the Exchange, Caliban Books, and now stuff like the new Vinegar Syndrome store (not to mention a good public library system and lots of university libraries in a cluster).
I wrote a new piece for @pghcitypaper.com about loving analog media in a digital world. If you’re someone who’s into vinyl, film photography, print media, and invaluable local businesses, you should check it out! I also coin the phrase “techno-bummerism” lol

60 years ago tonight, the san jose acid test, the grateful dead’s 1st gig as the grateful dead, in a house downtown after a rolling stones show. several hand drawn flyers showed up this year, as described in tom wolfe’s electric kool aid acid test, but with seemingly the wrong address on them. [1/4]
