Duo Lingo seems unusually concerned that I might forget the Spanish word for whale.
If I were Carol in a Pluribus-type situation, I would be too busy uncovering all the political and personal secrets of the world to worry about anything else.

I still can't believe that the Angels traded for Grayson Rodriguez without requiring a physical. That's like voting for Donald Trump and just assuming he's going to tell the truth, except in this case I suppose it's possible for Rodriguez to get healthy and thrive.

Great piece with good insight into the intangibles Craig Albernaz is bringing to the table, and how much the Orioles organization really needs them.

Gift article, no paywall.
Analysis | The Orioles need to loosen up. Their new manager has the personality to help.
Craig Albernaz seems comfortable in his own skin, and he brings a human element to a Baltimore organization that often felt tense and burdened by expectations.

“You become what you give your attention to,” wrote Stoic philosopher Epictetus, a slave who argued that real freedom is how much control we have over our urges, actions, and attention. When I pay attention to the news of endless corruption, am I corrupted?

Our national anthem a question: Does our banner yet wave? When Francis Scott Key wrote “The Defense of Fort McHenry,” he didn’t know how the War of 1812 would end. We don’t know how who will win in Trump’s assault on our democracy. It’s our turn to answer the question.
The National Anthem is a Question
No one living through history knew how it would end. They won anyway, and so can we.

Gianmarco Soresi says that a big part of being a progressive these days is using updated language to be sensitive to others. “And that’s not funny,” he said. But he offers a new way for liberals to communicate more broadly without compromising on values.

It has long been my opinion that Hollywood is frittering away the generational dance talents of Channing Tatum & Tom Holland by not putting them in a musical together. Not a remake, but akin to Gene Kelly & Donald O’Connor in Singin’ In The Rain. I strongly believe this would make a billion dollars
