I feel like pumpkin has a bit of an…organic/earthy quality to it vs sweet potato. Sweet potato is more naturally sweet to me, before the added spices, which might be the reason Black folx prefer it in pie.
Like we’ll eat a baked sweet potato with butter on it before we’ll eat a savory pumpkin dish.

You said this so well. Like it really boils down to the difference in taste between puréed sweet potato and puréed pumpkin. Everything else really is the same.

Like, the simple fact that said AI acts are *charting* on Billboard renders all of the “music fans are outraged” headlines dishonest. They can’t be that damn outraged if they’re streaming/buying those songs in numbers great enough to land them on the charts 😂

It would take a lot to convince me that the average fan of Morgan Wallen or Maverick City Music is genuinely bothered by the fact that Breaking Rust or Solomon Ray, respectively, are AI acts.

And it’s not that other music genres haven’t also become so formulaic that a machine couldn’t be programmed to parrot them semi-convincingly also, especially where the most commercial/mainstream stuff is concerned, but it’s gotten especially egregious with those two. Utterly flat and devoid of life.

Like, when the whole schtick of the genres is just parroting back tropes and values and aesthetic markers that communicate being on the “inside” vs. the “outside,” culturally, it totally makes sense that you could just replace actual humans and program a computer to hit all those beats instead.
