tsk is local-first.
stores all data locally, then syncs automatically in the background.

that means: no loading spinners, instant UI, works offline, syncs to all my devices.

built on @basic.tech - a platform for building personal software. tsk has no backend or servers.

the schedule aims to give you a holistic view of your day, trying to answer the question "what does my day look like today?"

it also acts like a historical archive, so you can see your schedule evolve over time.

the core idea: tasks only get done if they're scheduled on the calendar.

tasks are things to be done, and anything that needs doing needs a time to be done at.

in tsk, when you work on a task or mark it complete, that activity gets logged to the calendar.

playing around with gemini 3 for UI generation & very impressed so far!

its really good at creating polished ui that actually works in one try

but also far less variation in design than sonnet, given the same prompts

UIs are dying.
Buttons, dropdowns, dashboards — all getting replaced.

Agents are the new interface.
So what does the internet look like when we stop building screens?

not entirely sure what a good name for this is but, using a feature for a completely unintended purpose, because of a missing feature

random but popular example: using discord channel names to display stats/dynamic info

or even liking posts as a way of bookmarking them for later

& using Lenses to translate between atproto lexicons and basic data schemas
March 24, 2025 at 2:19 AM
over the weekend, there have been lots of discussions on how to build deeper integrations on atproto with other protocols

for example, inspired by @essentialrandom.bsky.social - your private pds could live as a service inside your atproto identity
March 24, 2025 at 2:19 AM
so how does this all work?

using "protocol composition" (a phrase i borrowed from @bmann.ca )

combing atproto with basic: an open protocol for private PDS's. by using both protocols side by side, you get the benefits of public social content with private data.
March 24, 2025 at 2:19 AM
and because you own your data, it can sync anywhere you want - such as a custom bookmarks app!
March 24, 2025 at 2:19 AM
in atproto fashion, your bookmarks are fully interoperable across at the atmosphere.

view and save bookmarks across clients, and data syncs automatically.
