Jessica: The WSJ is reporting that there are incentives for ICE Agents because they need to meet that insane 3,000 people per day quota—they are getting rewarded even if they bring in people who then get released…

@aimeemann.bsky.social's beautiful cover of "Rainy Days and Mondays" may be from the soundtrack to The Chair Company, but it is what happens when you let @programme4.tv into your heart. Also, it is raining in LA, I am strung out from the world—not me weepy in a cafe.

In America you drop your kid off at school, get your brains blown out on the ride home, then the Vice President drops everything for a week to call you a terrorist, to slander your family, to protect the circumstances that led to your death so they can do it again. It is government by Alex Jones.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Frogs in slowly heating water is a popular allegory for being unaware that you are being destroyed in an incrementally worsening situation.

But I'm drawing hope from the past week that we frogs may be a bit more aware of our situation than those allegorical frogs. #Hop

This commentary offers a clear, powerful statement of why freedom of speech is at the heart of democracy and must be defended, whether the speaker is Charlie Kirk or Jimmy Kimmel, MAGA supporters or MAGA opponents.

Me: “we already have two fantastic dogs, we don’t need any more pets.”

My wife: “you’re right.”

Me: “plus we just got new rugs…”

My wife: “okay”

Me: “and I can’t be home all day to house train a puppy.”

My wife: “I understand”

Me: “so it is NOT gonna happen.”

Let’s be clear: Judge Dugan’s arrest is not about ICE enforcement. This is about an administration hell-bent on intimidating the courts into submission. @ngertner.bsky.social explains
Cruelty and Intimidation are the Goals
The prosecution of Judge Hannah Dugan had nothing to do with ICE enforcement and everything to do with intimidation

Sidenote: this is why it’s strategic to vote for the party you can effectively influence and protest. Smacking down the Dems to “send a message” makes sense if there were still a normal Republican Party.

But those who voted 3rd party/stayed home probably didn’t want to send their last message ever.
