He has his left hand raised in the ta'al or Vulcan salute, with his other hand posed below it in the same gesture. He's wearing the style that by my own headcanons became popular when Surak's Vulcan Reform took hold, features with a short bowlcut with shaved sides and a mullet braid in a style that's like a bridge between the ancient Vulcan tradition of long braided hair, and the known bowlcut we think of now for Vulcans who follow Surak's path of Logic. He's adorned with gems and jewels; big IDIC earrings, collar and several rings on his fingers, together with green nails, his signature indigo eyeshadow and green markings on his lower lip.

On the right of this pannel there are two whales, one breeching and the other swimming. These are George and Gracie (The whales). Below one of the whales there is a small panel of Spock standing in water wearing his robes. The water before him ripples. To the bottom left there is kirk and spock, they are only outlines highlighted by the colours inside. In the outline there is a heart and an IDIC symbol, in their heads there is a line connecting the two's brains or thoughts. They are surrounded by orange trees with oranges on them. At the very end, there is smaller drawing of spock and kirk walking together, the bridge in the background. There are clouds and a sun. But the thing I find most beautiful about Trek specifically is that it says “The other is actually not the other, we are a part of each other. By understanding the other we understand ourselves. That’s why we explore, to know ourselves by knowing each other.” That’s what IDIC is all about.

If people are enjoying this season of Strange New Worlds, that’s 10000% ok. You’re allowed to have escapism. But the people getting angry at those of us upset at its deep conservative logic saying “you’re thinking too deeply, just enjoy it, it’s a fun scifi show” are being deeply anti-intellectual.
