The seizures can cause cognitive and developmental delays, and quick treatment is really important. So if you’re worried or think maybe you’re seeing spasms, get that EEG! Please don’t assume they’re benign without seeing a neurologist! 🙏🏻 (2/2)

Here’s my PSA to go with my last post: infantile spasms can be benign or they can be a form of seizure. In many cases, like ours, they look essentially identical. The only way to tell the difference is with an EEG. (1/2)

You can’t tell from her face, but we’re so excited to escape the hospital!
I’m so thankful to say that she was given a clean bill of health. We found out has two different kinds of benign spasms, but there was NO seizure activity on her EEG!

Spending the next couple of days in the hospital with my littlest so she can have a continuous EEG. We’re hoping the weird spasms she’s been having aren’t actually seizures 😭

Going through an autistic burnout as a parent is… pretty terrible. I have no clue how to heal while simultaneously taking care of 5 young children, homeschooling, and working part time. I feel like my nervous system is shot 😖

We had to prep for the incoming winter storm and probably loss of power today, so we didn’t do as much schoolwork as I planned. But my kids learned to dye leather in Minecraft so… I’m going to count it? 😅🤷🏼♀️ #homeschoollife
