That prisons are by design and policy so bereft of stimulation, education, entertainment, joy and connection makes it very difficult to say this is bad actually however it does not make it impossible to say this is not uplifting and heartwarming actually

I’m working on a couple of projects that I do believe can make the fedi viable for nonwhite people because they address the specific needs around safety and informing people where sources of harm originate.
But the fedi as it stands now is just a toxic place that should be avoided.

As the person that started the first Black led instance in that environment, I had to shut it down based on the sheer amount of unfiltered racism and hate that exists in that space.
