It's nice having an adult student from Burgundy who's a wine expert.

This is exactly the kind of thing I play on guitar where I find it to be a lot easier but then I'm way better on guitar than on alto. It's fun to adapt guitaristic things to a different instrument, though. Here's what it sounds like on guitar.

Got to work early to get some practice in and came up this descending second plus a fourth line with that goes up a minor third then down a semitone and repeats the process.

Because I work afternoons/evenings I have a pretty great morning routine. Wake up, drink some tea and listen to music, start making lunch if I need to and while that's going get in about 45 minutes/an hour of practice. Today I made this chicken soup with sauerkraut.

Put this on after. Love these Moodsville albums. Look at this lineup. Young Andrew Cyrille!

Hardcore cornography.

Tonight's thrift finds. I was really intrigued by this Indian guitar album. Never heard of this guy hut listened in the car and it kicks ass.

Hit a deep vein of Elvis CDs.

I also hit a stack of Irish folk music LPs because everything points to Ireland for me these days.

Excellent timing at the thrift store today.

These were all $2.50, disregard the price tags.

Some excellent stuff that I had to leave behind because no disk or too scratched like Elvin Jones with Art Pepper and Chris Potter.

Picked up this 80s Johnny Cash record with a song and production by Nick Lowe:

I continue to be the clumsiest motherfucker on this planet. So far today I've dropped a full glass jar of sauerkraut on a tile floor and dropped this record while flipping sides, putting some big gashes in it.

How do you eat your pupusas? Do you knife and fork it? Pick it up? I saw one guy pick the sides apart, top them up and eat them like tacos.

I passed on all that 90s stuff but I did grab these in addition to that killer 12".

Ok, been working on blowing over the Confirmation changes for about a week? This is where I am now and I think there's a pretty significant difference between last week's video and this one. I couldn't play at this tempo until today. Definite progress! It's moments like this that keep me going.

Now, if I were the kind of person who wanted every Nine Inch Nails, Primus and Sneaker Pimps album I would have been beside myself.

As it were I did snap up this amazing 12" single. Lo-fi, raw post punk from '83. Bass is flanged to shit and the guitar has the chorus maxed out. Incredible stuff!
