Yup, I wish I'd done that. But it was easier just to wipe the account than figure out how to mass delete.

This is the bullshit Obama pulled.

You'd think after his disaster nominally "left" parties would have learned that you can't "work" with proto fascists.

OMG it's infuriating.

Everything they do is straight from the sociopathic, gaslighting, Republican playbook.

Also, they can ask what's happened with this?
How dare they pretend to support food banks while declining food grants and pulling funding.

I was so happy he was runnning, but then finding out it was against JAG was like a kick to the teeth.

Yup, I just realised that.

💯
Back over ten years ago when I first heard Rutger Bregman speak it blew my mind. I wish more people would get excited about this very real, very easy and very cheap way to end poverty and actually make everyone's lives better.

The next govt who wants to change this CAN do so. It actually has pretty much all the tools to demand that these power imbalances CEASE, that workers ARE treated fairly, that access to services is improved, to fund those services PROPERLY.

What it often lacks is political will WHEN IT MATTERS MOST.

Yup, this is one of the things the Canadian UBI study showed - that a UBI gave people the opportunity to find stable jobs that better suited them when they weren't pressured into taking anything.
And not always flash jobs. But good, stable jobs they could be proud of & suited them.

I also found this interesting on the 3.5% protest rule—and the importance of having a strategy to co-opt or subvert the fascist support systems.

I think it's the same person, but there's not many people doing this important research.

I agree it's frustrating when we're being met by life-threatening violence. But the evidence I've seen is that non-violent is more effective.

Violence gets met by violence—e.g. Netayahu propping up Hamas to excuse genocide.

Right now, I'm not sure anyone is sure what to do, but the hellscape FB is so furious that ACT appears to have taken their post down because I can't find it any more

Even the confusingly worded stuff poll is 60% against

& several threads here are furious, too, inc this one

Yup, it's bullshit designed to make their uneducated base think they might save some money, when we all know what would save them money is breaking up the supermaket monopolies.
Utter infuriating nonsense.

Being celiac, allergic or intolerant is bad enough—they want to make it into a nightmare.

Yup. Same.

The publishers told David Green his wouldn't work because his character was too autistically coded...

Worked a treat in marketing (and it's a great book)
Sometimes you just have to go your own way.

I was once told that this book - Magic, Maps, and Mischief - written by an autistic person about the autistic experience, did nothing new.

I didn't agree, and put it down to people judging worth differently.

1,600 sales later since October 24th, I'm glad people agree with me ❤️
