When I was in middle school some boys in the locker room said if you laid on one arm until it was numb and then touched yourself with it, it was like being touched by someone else. Scientists say it's time to consider whether they're onto something.

This is my absolute favorite photo of Udo Kier. Taken at Smitty's BBQ in Lockhart, TX in (I think) 2002 when he visiting Alamo Drafthouse's original location for screenings of Dracula and Frankenstein.

A very big Onion announcement:

The Onion has spent the last two months working on a masterpiece.

It's a documentary titled Jeffrey Epstein: Bad Pedophile.

It's so good, in fact, we were set to release it in theatres nationwide on October 2nd.

Then two weeks ago, Charlie Kirk was shot.

"Everything's A-OK" = the aquatic version of the "Everything's fine" meme.

This adorable, perfectly timed photo of a fish hiding in the mouth of a bigger predator (from which he'd later escape) won Gabe Jensen 1st Place, Underwater category, 2024 CUPOTY. #Nature #Photography #EastCoastKin #Wildlife

Picking just three underrated masterpieces from this list:

Last Hurrah for Chivalry: Everything Woo would do in his Heroic Bloodshed films, but in the guise of a 70s wuxia film.

School on Fire: Ringo's bleakest, and best, movie.

Blind Detective: Every great Johnnie To film rolled into one movie.
In October on The Channel there will be a whole lot of Hong Kong

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
Gov. Greg Abbott pardons Daniel Perry, veteran who killed police brutality protester in 2020
A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.

Rick roll your artsiest friends by sending them this link with "Hey, have you ever listened to The Disintegration Loops?"
I'm kicking off the pre-Halloween season by rewatching some of YouTube's more terrifying ephemera.

Here Rick Astley descends into the hell of generational loss as the same VHS recording is copied and re-copied until it all feels like cosmic horror and the universe itself screams in pain.

I read Gravity's Rainbow recently (please, hold your applause), and I un-jokingly think PT Anderson could make it work as a sprawling Berlin Alexanderplatz style prestige cable miniseries.
