What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

That final point is absolutely crucial.
The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

British politics is basically a doom spiral of increasingly unhinged hostile policies.

Reform says something unhinged

Labour counters with their own unhinged policy
⬇️
Tories shout from back they'll be even more unhinged

Reform announces different unhinged proposal in response

“It’s time to resist the right’s narrative of immigration as aberration. Nations thrive on it – and they always have done”

Gaia Vince historically fact checks the far right grievance peddlers who blame immigrants for our national decline when in truth it’s those immigrants that’s hold it together.
“The dense interconnectedness of the human family… means that in terms of our biology, there are no different races. We can all claim ancestry from across the world. Nevertheless, our politics is obsessed with distinctions based on national identity…” Gaia’s article more relevant than ever:

There’s your subsidy scandal for you - a pile of desperate right wing nonsense. The cynical side of this is it’s an attempt to portray the Green economy and the whole move to net zero, as something that costs us money, relies on subsidies.

This is a smear from a right wing newspaper owned by a tax exile based in Bermuda. We need to reform our media ownership laws to prevent this kind of pernicious influence on our national conversation - British people are being manipulated by rich foreigners with fake news.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.

Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.

The list goes on and on.

Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

There are millions of families in our country in poverty, that can't feed their children.

We can't allow that and allow rich people not to pay a fair amount of tax.

If Trump thinks the exchange of a few bits of Russian and Ukrainian territory plus a ceasefire will constitute peace, he’s wrong; Putin will just start up his attacks again when he chooses. There has to be a binding agreement which Russia won’t break. Not much sign of that.

There was a time when the BBC was a trusted accurate source.
BBC among media misreportimg/exaggerating scale of asylum protests

Median protest is a few dozen, below 100.

"Usually Several hundred at a time" is false.
- should say *occasionally*
< 1/10 protests have 200 people

"Sometimes thousands"
I dont think a single 2025 protest had > 2000 people yet

We shared our FOI docs with their reporter and press office.
Their response? To publish the story - our story - without even notifying us.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.
