I'm not completely surprised given one is $250 new and the other is $400 new

The one on the UP lines is different from the rest I believe, and hasn't been released into the wild yet. They use it for operation north pole, but it might still have outside lights.

Is this from this or last year? Im trying to get them added to my train tracker

The holiday trains have lights on the engine and cab car denoting them being holiday trains

ahhh I see now. I thought you were talking about the station entrances for a sec. Still absolutely stupid
December 7, 2025 at 5:27 AM
Just clarifying, the station entrances, or do you mean the doors to the cars?

what in gods name am i looking at
December 6, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I was looking at the IMF (1:3.41) and linked both that and the world bank above. The world bank rate for china is 1:3.53 (which, meaning the INT$/km is something like $317.7, assuming my math is right there (3.53 * 90). Is there some other way you got ~1.61?
December 6, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Absolutely. I meant to say "higher (PPP adjusted)" where even if the ratio was something like 1:5 it'd still be far cheaper than what we build here in the US
December 6, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Technically speaking those all stop trains are rock island Beverly trains :3
December 6, 2025 at 5:31 PM
But I should also ask now, what are you using for the PPP adjustment? Just browsing online, i keep seeing figures around 1:3.4, not 1:1.6.

I wasn't trying to say they were, but given the massive difference in wages and how much of building such a project does go to labor (as well as how much more built up the manufacturing sector is in China) I'd expect the cost of such a project would be lower (non PPP adjusted).
