If this were the case, then there is no rig in play. If the GOP knew they have 26 and 28 rigged to the point where their jobs were secure, they’d have blown up the filibuster on day one. Unless, of course, they “really” want institutions to fail, then use the filibuster as a noose to hang the Dems.

The GOP put up the exact same argument each time a shutdown occurs when they are in charge. Dems need to stand fast, and not fall for the “we will negotiate in fairness once you open the government.” Those fuckers are not to be trusted.
